Branching Out

Here's to branching out. Once in a while it is worth branching out of your art form of choice, if only to breed new ideas for your main art form.


I have found that working with an instrument can help bridge ideas together. If you can play and see the complex ideas that many times are in musical pieces, visualizing a scene for a photography piece or a painting an idea from one's mind gets easier I imagine.

Also, poetry is a good way to get the creative juices flowing. What is so nice about it is that we can force ourselves to be as creative, or uncreative as we want. The more restrictions you put in the piece, the more creative one needs to be in order to create the piece.

That's the goal of most artists, right? To create, to be creative.

Hey, my name is Marcus Dashoff. I have been an aspiring photographer since I was 14, And I have been in photography for a little more than 5 years now.

Over the years I have traveled with a few professional photographers, and have sometimes thought it would be neat to be one - even if part-time.

I have yet to take a photography class, but I hope to in the future. My main interests in the art are Landscape, and Still Life Photography.

My Main camera is a Canon Xti. My lenses include a 18-55mm, and a 50mm 1.8.

I can do Portraiture Photography, I just don't enjoy it as much as Landscape or Still Life Photography.

Current Residence: United States, California
Favourite genre of music: Most anything though I lean on country and alternative
Personal Quote: Once the game is over, the king and the pawn go back into the same box.
